Product Description

Agave cupreata is a medium-sized agave species recognized for its broad, copper-green leaves with undulating, slightly toothed edges and a subtle powdery coating. Each leaf tapers to a defined point, showcasing a rich coppery-green hue that intensifies in full sun. Known as "maguey papalote" in Mexico, it plays a significant role in producing mezcal, thanks to its substantial sugar content. As it matures, this agave develops a tall flower stalk, which produces yellow to orange blooms, adding ornamental value. Endemic to the Guerrero and Michoacán regions, Agave cupreata is well-suited to arid environments and sandy soils.
