The leaves are typically blue-green to gray-green, featuring smooth to slightly wavy margins with prominent, dark spines. The hybrid inherits the striking size and robust growth of A. bovicornuta and the compact, symmetrical form and cold hardiness of A. parryi. Over many years, it may produce a tall flower spike with yellow to greenish flowers, but it is monocarpic, meaning it dies after flowering.
