Plant Description

Acer negundo, commonly known as the Boxelder Maple, is a fast-growing, deciduous tree recognized for its adaptability and unique compound leaves, which typically have 3 to 7 leaflets, unlike most other maples. The leaves are light green, turning yellow in the fall. Boxelder Maple produces greenish-yellow flowers in early spring, followed by paired winged samaras that mature in late summer. The bark is gray-brown and deeply ridged with age. This hardy tree is often found in moist areas, making it a common choice for erosion control and windbreaks.
