Plant Description

Populus alba, commonly known as the white poplar, is a large deciduous tree that can reach heights of up to 20-30 meters. This tree is notable for its distinctive white bark and silvery-white leaves, which have a lobed, maple-like appearance. The leaves are dark green on the upper side and densely covered with white, woolly hairs underneath, creating a striking two-toned effect. In spring, it produces catkins, which are clusters of small flowers, and later, fluffy seeds. Populus alba is often planted for its rapid growth and its ability to provide excellent shade and windbreaks.
