Product Description

The Agave macroacantha, often called Black-Spined Agave, is a striking succulent native to Oaxaca and Puebla, Mexico. This compact plant forms dense rosettes of fleshy, lance-shaped, blue-gray leaves with sharp, black terminal spines. Each leaf is edged with finely serrated teeth, adding texture and interest. Typically growing to about 30–60 cm (12–24 inches) in height and diameter, its architectural symmetry and bold features make it a favorite for xeriscaping and container gardens. The Black-Spined Agave rarely flowers, but when it does, it sends up a dramatic, tall flowering spike with yellowish blooms.
