Plant Description

Agave stricta var. echinus, also known as the Hedgehog Agave, is a compact, symmetrical succulent with dense rosettes of slender, spine-tipped leaves that radiate in a spherical form. Each narrow, dark green leaf is rigid, ending in a sharp spine that adds to its striking appearance. The plant can grow up to 60 cm (2 feet) in diameter and height, creating a unique, spiky mound. During summer, it may produce a tall flower spike with clusters of small, tubular flowers in shades of pink or red. This agave is highly drought-tolerant, making it ideal for arid landscapes.
