Plant Description

The Agave cupreata, often referred to as the Copper Agave, is a stunning medium-sized succulent native to the mountainous regions of Guerrero and Michoacán, Mexico. It features broad, thick, and fleshy green leaves edged with striking reddish-brown spines. The rosettes can grow up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) wide, with a distinctive coppery sheen that gives the plant its name. At maturity, it produces an imposing flower stalk adorned with clusters of yellow or greenish flowers. This agave is a key species in mezcal production, prized for its beauty and practical uses.
