Product Description

The Aloe arborescens REVERSE VARIEGATED form is a highly ornamental mutation where the leaf centers remain pale yellow to creamy-white, while the outer margins retain a rich green—the opposite of typical variegation. This dazzling color inversion creates a sunburst effect, accentuating the arched, toothed leaves of the classic multi-headed aloe. Often forming large, bushy rosettes, it maintains the species’ iconic red-orange flower spikes, adding both texture and high-contrast color to succulent collections.

Botanical family: Asphodelaceae

Botanical genus: Aloe

Botanical species: Aloe arborescens

SKU:BA-4561-5087

Cultivation

Soil type: Free-draining, sandy or gritty soil essential for root health. Avoid organic-heavy mixes.

Watering frequency: Light to moderate; water thoroughly only when the soil is dry.

Light exposure: Bright indirect light to full sun; too much shade may mute variegation.

Temperature requirements: Protect below -2 °C (28 °F); prefers mild climates or frost-free microclimates.

Fertilization: Use a half-strength succulent fertilizer once in spring and summer.

Pruning: Trim off any non-variegated or damaged rosettes to preserve appearance.

Common pests: Mealybugs and scale are common in variegated forms; monitor for soft rot in low airflow.

Any other relevant care practices: Ideal for pots and raised beds; variegated types may grow slower and sunburn faster than green forms—acclimate gradually.
